The memes from this event are going to be EPIC.
Lady Gaga was in violet chiffon, Jared Leto in turquoise velvet, Selma Hayak in gold lamé, and there's our Adam, pushing the boundaries of fashion in his white shirt, narrow tie, and steel blue Burberry suit. Apparently Gaga stans were horrified that he'd show up to a red carpet in... that? To which Adam's stans, all replied, giddily, you don't UNDERSTAND.... he was in BLUE!
But seriously, it was wonderful to see Adam, large as life, after having him go to ground so thoroughly while filming "White Noise". It had been 4 months since Cannes, almost to the day, and I was eager to get to see him on the red carpet again. It looks like playing Jack, for all that it was a very long and reportedly complicated shoot, was kind to him; his face was sleek, his body no longer so lean as it had been for Henry, Jacques, and Maurizio, and his neatly trimmed hair hadn't been colored recently, so we can see the silver subtly shot through it, a side benefit of all his roles this year requiring him to wear wigs.
He must have been jetlagged to hell and back again, but looked so very fine, if staid, in that suit, his face wreathed in genuine smiles. He'd have been hard pressed to be grouchy, with Gaga being an actual ray of fashion sunshine right next to him. She did a wonderful job of coaxing him out of his shell with her antics, though, as you can see from this photo, he retreated back into his more characteristically stoic demeanor if left on his own. What you can't see is Gaga prancing about prettily in the background, floating that beautiful chiffon dress about her like an exotic goldfish would fluff it's fins.
Meanwhile, our favorite fuckable redwood is planted firmly, giving us all his best "this is me smiling" face that hasn't changed a whit in 6 years, no matter how huge the red carpet is, bless his subdued socks.
