He's held rapt by her, as we are by the sight of him.

He's not a good man, but by God is he Good Looking.

**SPOILERS and SPECULATION AHOY**

The word "rapt" is based on the Latin root, "rapere," which means to snatch, grip, or take away. Interestingly, "rapere" is also the root of another word central to this film; rape.

This particular still was released with no context, but based on the clothes he's wearing, it's a pretty safe bet that this will be during the scene where Jean and Jacques make their brief reconciliation, and I'm further guessing, based on this enthralled expression on his face, that he's is gazing at Marguerite. Whether this happens before or after the kiss they share at Jean's behest, we've yet to find out, but from the way his jaw has dropped open, the faint ghost of a fleeting smile at the corners of his mouth, the rest of his face slack, his eyes wide and intent, it's clear he's smitten. It'll be interesting to see whether or not Jean notices the hawk-like intensity with which the godfather of his first son regards his new wife; I suspect he won't.

But Marguerite will.

Photo used for reference was a hq promotional still shared by Adam Driver Central on twitter. So nice to finally get a good clear photo of him in character!

About 10 hours of drawing time. I'm stupidly pleased with his lower lip and that brocade.
