I really am trying to write up coherent notes, but I keep getting overloaded every time I look at him in an attempt to marshal the words.
This is such a sweet smile; it reminds me of photos I've seen of him as a little kid, grinning from ear to ear, eyes practically hidden with the force of his delight.
I have no idea who Adam is talking to or what they said, but, whoever they are and whatever it was, I would like to thank them for prompting this smile and the photographer for catching it. The intensity of his good humor fairly leaps through the lens; even his dimples have dimples, and you can see how the tiny muscles on the side of his face rumple the skin all the way up to his temples.
This is where I normally give credit to the wonderful human who took the photo I used as reference, and mention where Adam was and when it was taken. I can't do that this time. Unusually enough, I was completely unable to get any provenance at all for this photo; I have no certain idea when or where it was taken, or by whom. The closest I can date it with any degree of confidence is late October or early November 2019, based on the suit he's wearing, how lean his face is, and the length of his hair. I was hoping that Getty Images might help me solve the puzzle, but I can't seem to find an event where he's wearing that suit, that tie, and the tie has that distinctive rumple just below the knot. I had thought it might have been the AITAF Broadway 2019 event, but it couldn't have been, he was wearing a striped tie that night.
Does it really matter? No. Is it weird that the longest paragraph in this post is about how I can't tell you who took the reference photo? Probably. But does it bother me that I don't know? YES.
About 9 hours of work on this one, give or take a dozen, "surely I'm done NOW,' versions.
