If he were a drink, he'd be a celebratory glass of champagne, gently fizzing with a sense of quiet happiness.
Aside from one politely firm interaction with a journalist who asked a question that Adam clearly felt veered sharply into inappropriately personal territory (honestly, he kept the fact that he had a child AT ALL a secret for TWO YEARS, do you really think he's going to publicly talk about how being a parent affects his acting?), this was clearly a very relaxed and enjoyable affair for him. Even the blazer he's wearing in this photo is more casual, the fabric most likely a cotton blend instead of a more formal wool, thrown on over his t-shirt as a nod to the special occasion of his being honored with the Outstanding Work in Cinema award at the closing gala of the 2018 Los Cabos film festival.
Adam's shoulders are completely relaxed, gently sloping instead of the straighter line we see when he's holding himself at a professional parade rest. His brow is smooth, though the lines that time, and a tendency to frown while concentrating, has etched into it are still visible. He's not openly smiling, but you can see how his lower eyelids have pursed, lifting up a tiny bit and crinkling the fine lines, especially on his right; if he were in a full fledged grin they'd lift high enough that he's almost squinting, his eyes becoming crescents of joy. Similarly, his mouth is pulled up and to his right ever so slightly, the ghost of a smile crooking the corner and making a stronger suggestion of his dimple without actually rumpling it.
His appearance is neat enough, but you can tell that he'd not been professionally groomed. His gently windblown hair doesn't have the volume that it would if Amy had worked her magic on it, I was delighted to see that he has actual nose hairs visible, which I've NEVER seen in any other picture of him, and he's not been dabbed with any kind of foundation at all, leaving every single star of his glorious constellations on full display, their glory undimmed.
I imagine that if you were to stumble on him between acting jobs, out and about town, he might look a lot like this.
And I would hope that he'd be quietly fizzing with this same relaxed happiness, too.

About 27.5 hrs of painting time, which is incredibly long for a smaller portrait like this. In my defense, this is probably the highest resolution and clearest photo of him I've ever seen & it seemed a shame to not pay homage to all of those tiny details that are normally obscured by poor resolution, focal blur, and foundation.
