Marguerite de Carrouges #2 {art}

I don't know that I have a lot to say about this one, other than that the lighting caught me and drew me in.

She's just so lovely in this scene; young, and a little scared, but so very brave. She's facing what she'd been taught was her purpose, the marriage bed, and the promise of children to come, and nobody has taught her anything about what to expect.

Photo used for reference was a screencap taken by JodieGifs on Twitter.

About 7.5 hours of painting time. Embroidery is complicated, and so is her beautiful hair with all those tiny, shiny flyaways. And an interesting bit of trivia; today, 29 Dec, marks the 635th anniversary of the duel.
